After starting out DDC with a BANG!, COVID19 spread across the US, thus shutting down any chance of an in person event in the near future. Therefore, like many organizations at the time, Abby and Shannon got together and decided to go Virtual. Keeping the vivacious energy of designers in our industry strong, we had both events with sponsors donating amazing prizes to participants, as well as switching it up and bringing in specialists in other areas that could benefit our community. Although these virtual events were a success, we are happy to bring back our in person VIP dinner discussions!
BALANCING WELLBEING IN SOLITUDE | MAY 07 2020
Our very first virtual event focused on balancing wellbeing while in solitude during the pandemic with a pajama party twist! We invited three amazing wellness specialists that challenged the laziness in all of us while at home and prepared us for an easy transition back at the office. Three design experts concluded with their view on the importance of wellness in the workplace as a design professional and how they personally incorporate it into their firms. Finally, a Q&A session wrapped up the event leaving our viewers feeling refreshed and gave everyone a new outlook on wellness.

BEING NAUGHTY OR NICE IN THE WORKPLACE | DEC 09 2020
This seasonal holiday themed event was a huge success that was especially fun for cocktail lovers and competitive spirits alike. The event hosted the topic of approaching conflict resolution as a design professional. Prior to the event, we announced a competition on who could submit the most delicious holiday cocktail recipe using Grey Goose, Makers Mark, or Hendricks. Shannon and Abby then got the ingredients and made each drink to then give the winner an incredible gift basket sponsored by our amazing sponsors.
